The digital economy and payments

Cross-border payments, data flows, cybersecurity and digital trust connect the G20, B20 and APEC agendas.

Is your company solving this? Put it in front of the ministers and government officials, delegations, embassies, CEOs and NGOs working on it. See where your company fits →

Why it matters

The G20 has set targets to make cross-border payments cheaper, faster, more transparent and more accessible, and central banks are testing new payment infrastructure. At the same time, payments fraud and cybercrime are rising, and the finance track has widened its focus to cover them.

Business groups are pressing for interoperable rules on data, digital identity and cybersecurity so that companies do not face conflicting requirements in every market. APEC has long worked on digital trade facilitation for its member economies.

On the summit agenda

Cross-border payments

Lower cost and faster settlement for people and businesses.

Fraud and cybersecurity

Protecting consumers and financial systems from scams and attacks.

Data flows and privacy

Trusted rules for moving data across borders.

Digital inclusion

Bringing small businesses and underserved people online.
