World leaders

Who sits at the table at the two summits that define 2026 — the G7 at Évian in June, COP31 at Antalya and APEC at Shenzhen in November, and the G20 at Miami in December — and who chairs the summits that follow in 2027.

The family photo

Every summit pauses for one picture: the leaders, side by side, in front of the host's backdrop. These are the most recent family photos from the summits we cover.

Alongside the leaders’ track, the official engagement groups — B20 (business), C20 (civil society), L20 (labour), T20 (think tanks) and Y20 (youth) — hold major events through the presidency year, “the outcomes of which will contribute to the deliberations of G20 leaders.” For a corporate partner that is the practical route in: the B20 is where private-sector recommendations are drafted, and the leaders’ declaration in December is where they either survive or do not.

APEC members are “economies” rather than countries, which is why Hong Kong, China and Chinese Taipei take part alongside national governments.
